The group of watercolors that I included in the SOIL New Members' show could be described as Indeterminate Geometric Abstractions. Transparent and opaque shapes in the paintings dissolve and fuse together at once. I also included several “sketches in knit.” In the knit/painting sketches, I was trying to find the mid-way point between "art" and "craft".
While I was working on the body of work, the world seemed to me in great flux, both economic, as well as political. My hope and doubt toward the future of the world and its possible collapse, constantly influenced the choices in making the work.
